About the Project

The Southwest Airlines Terminal 1 Modernization Program at LAX includes the renovation of ticketing areas, departure and mezzanine levels, security screening checkpoints, Terminal 1 Concourse, reconfiguration of aircraft gate systems, installation of checked baggage inspection systems and facilities and installation of information technology services. Once through the TSA checkpoint, passengers will experience a modern concourse with more seating, larger restrooms, and updated retail shops, beverage stands and restaurants. Westfield, which is responsible for development of the terminal’s concessions, offers 24 shops, cafes and lounges, as well as upscale retail and dining establishments.
