Spotsylvania Circuit Court Building and Public Safety Building

About the Project

Located on the south campus of the historic Spotsylvania County Courts Complex, this new facility includes a 71,000 square foot circuit court building and a 72,000 square foot public safety building. The Public Safety Building includes the county’s new emergency 911 call center, crime lab, officer briefing rooms, motorcycle storage building, gym, and locker rooms. The crime lab includes reverse osmosis/deionized (RO/DI) water, biosafety cabinets, cold storage rooms and chromatography refrigerators. The Circuit County Building features three courtrooms with high-end finishes, four judge’s chambers, a Circuit Court Clerk’s department, public records, and three detention areas. Other facets of the project included building demolition of an existing fire station and the old American Legion building, construction of a new parking lot, and extension of the public road.
