About the Project

The Hensel Phelps and Fentress Architects team was contracted to provide design-build services for the $154 million Fred D. Thompson U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building for the General Services Administration. Located on 3.4 acres in the heart of downtown Nashville, the six-story, 293,606 SF facility includes eight courtrooms, eleven judges’ chambers, offices for numerous municipalities, custom artwork, a sub-grade parking garage and surface parking spaces. The project was designed and built to meet Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection standards and is certified LEED Gold and SITES Silver.
