Daniel K. Inouye International Airport Lobby 3 Checkpoint

The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport’s Lobby 3 Checkpoint received an award in the category for “Renovation and Remodeling Projects – Under $10 Million.” Aiming to reduce stress for travelers, employees, and security processes, this $7-million project created a new checkpoint at Lobby 3. The new checkpoint enhanced efficiency and minimized foot traffic congestion.

Repair Building 503A

Repair Building 503A won in the “Renovation and Remodeling Projects – $10 Million and Above” category. This $29-million project included a renovation of a seven-story barracks on Fort Shafter, Hawaii. The scope involved the demolition of interior spaces and reconstruction of the entire mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Hensel Phelps self-performed 42% of the project scope, including concrete, installation of solid surface countertops, shower surround, Division 1 specialties, kitchen equipment, signage and demolition.

Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Electrical Improvements

Winning the category for “Utility Infrastructure Construction – $25 Million and Above” is the Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Electrical Improvements project. This $42-million project was a testament to Hensel Phelps’ expertise in handling complex infrastructure upgrades. The project consisted of upgrading the electrical systems of the wastewater treatment plant across 13 buildings. In addition to the electrical improvements, new automated instrumentation and control systems were installed in major processing areas and integrated into the plant’s existing Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to improve operational management and monitoring.
