In January of 2012, the U.S. General Services Administration selected Hensel Phelps/Gensler as the Design-Build Team for the Benjamin P. Grogan and Jerry L. Dove Federal Building project in Miramar, Florida. Totaling 383,000 SF, this project consolidates a federal agency’s forces, which were previously spread across 12 different locations in South Florida. This LEED Platinum C&S and Gold CI project includes enhanced security specifications, an enclosed parking structure, and multiple buildings on a 20-acre site.

Hensel Phelps was recently notified that this project was the recipient of three prestigious awards:

• 2015 Design-Build Institute of America’s National Award of Merit; Federal, State, County, Municipal Category

• 2015 Design-Build Institute of America, Florida Chapter; Best Overall in Federal, State, County, and Municipal Category

• 2015 Engineering News-Record Southeast’s Best Project Awards; Government/Public Building

This project is a result of successful partnering, communication, and effective management. Congratulations to all of the team members who dedicated their efforts to making this project such a success.
