About the Project
The Marriott Residence Inn Baltimore project is a 200,000-SF, 194-room hotel, located adjacent to the Johns Hopkins Medical School Campus. It includes 136 one-bedroom units, 11 two-bedroom units, and 47 studio units on 14 floors. The design of these rooms is tailored to accommodate patients from Johns Hopkins; more ADA-compliant rooms are included in the design than is typically required. Much of the design required input from Johns Hopkins and the adjacent Kennedy Krieger Institute, resulting in rooms that do not follow the prototypical Marriott Inn room design.
The hotel includes an upgraded four-star-level lobby, as well as four hospitality suites and a large prefunction space. Located on the roof of the 14-story hotel is a rooftop bar that provides 4,000 SF of indoor rooftop amenity space, as well as 1,500 SF of outdoor, open air space where guests can enjoy 360-degree views of Baltimore. The facility features two full-service kitchens, a full-service fitness center open to the public, and a 20,000-SF marketplace that will include restaurants and a variety of retail, catering to the influx of interest and development in this rich center of research and innovation. The project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council and is seeking LEED Silver certification.
