Hensel Phelps Announces Leadership Changes for 2025

The Hensel Phelps Board of Directors is pleased to announce several changes to the leadership team, effective January 1, 2025.

Derek Hoffine Promoted to Executive Vice President

Derek Hoffine has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Hoffine, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise, will oversee the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountain and Southcentral regions along with Hensel Phelps Water and Diverge. Hoffine joined Hensel Phelps in 2002 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering Technology from Pittsburg State University. Derek held various roles throughout his career, including field engineer, project manager, operations manager and regional vice president. He brings extensive experience from projects across the country, having worked in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, and most recently led the Rocky Mountain Region as regional vice president. He serves on the Workforce Development Committee for Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National. His vision and commitment to innovation will help guide Hensel Phelps into an exciting new chapter of growth.

Charlie Robben Named Regional Vice President

Charlie Robben has been named Regional Vice President for the Rocky Mountain Region. A graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science and Management, Charlie began his career with Hensel Phelps in 2006. His experience spans Northern California, Southern California and the Rocky Mountain region, where he has served as an operations manager. Charlie is an active leader in his community, serving on the Denver Metro Board of Governors and the Colorado Springs Economic Development (EDC) Board of Governors. He also participates in the Downtown Denver Leadership Program. Robben’s extensive experience and deep understanding of the region position him to lead the team to continued success. His strategic insights and collaborative approach will ensure operational excellence across all projects.

Adam Rogers Appointed General Manager of MCIS

Adam Rogers has been appointed General Manager for Mission Critical Integrated Solution (MCIS). A graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, Adam joined Hensel Phelps in 1996. His portfolio includes projects across eight states and three countries, including Ireland and Israel, in sectors such as light rail, airports, judicial facilities, data centers and semiconductor manufacturing. Adam’s expertise and passion for delivering high-stakes projects make him a key leader in the MCIS group, ensuring the continued growth and delivery of innovative solutions for our mission-critical clients.

Rick Tucker Retires After a Remarkable Career

After more than three decades of dedicated service, Executive Vice President Rick Tucker announced his retirement. In his role, Tucker oversaw the Pacific Northwest, Rocky Mountain, Southcentral and Southwest regions as well as Hensel Phelps Water. Tucker’s leadership and contributions to Hensel Phelps have driven operational success and fostered a culture of excellence. Reflecting on his career, Rick highlighted the San Jose Airport TAIP project as a favorite, where he witnessed over 100 staff members grow into leaders. “Getting to see the over 100+ staff members grow into the leaders they are today is both inspiring and gratifying,” Rick shared. We thank Rick for his extraordinary, lasting impact and wish him the best in retirement.
