Hensel Phelps Turns Over New Gate at LAX

Thursday October 8, 2015

Last week, the Hensel Phelps Southwest Airlines (SWA) Terminal 1 (T1) team at LAX completed the turnover of a new gate. An SWA flight terminated at the new Gate 11A for the very first time on Wednesday evening. Early the next morning, the first departure occurred out of that gate, on-time and as-scheduled. Hensel Phelps committed to this critical deadline months ago, and the entire team worked diligently to achieve this goal.

Before the team could completely remove the delineators, excited passengers rushed into the holdroom to soak up the new concourse design, which includes a new terrazzo, millwork, and a ceiling that brightens up the overall concourse. The opening of Gate 11A means the closing of another existing gate so that the team can start the process all over again.
